With over 5 years of relevant experience, she has demonstrated her expertise in software engineering, research, and development. Mekhala's educational background includes a Master's degree in Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication Engineering from RV College of Engineering. She also has a Pre-university degree in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Electronics from Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College and completed her ICSE board from School Vivekananda. Before joining Amazon, Mekhala worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Graduate Student Researcher at Georgia Institute of Technology. During her time there, she worked on an internal tool to extract ISA statistics from binary produced during offline compilation of build framework. She also implemented features to analyze shaders of different workloads with every check-in, monitor the stats for unexpected changes, and send notifications. Mekhala integrated the tool to the backend and visualized the results on a dashboard, which helped catch several bugs. Additionally, she worked on a prototype of a distributed video-streaming platform that could support a large-scale camera network for the purposes of object detection and tracking.
